McAley has an innate ability to consume and analyze significant text in a short period of time. Her proven speed-reading skills enable her to review large and technical documents on very tight timelines, while producing consistent results. McAley’s attention to detail and research background means she is great at fact checking anything from grammar aligned to corporate style guides and policy to facts and figures. She improves every document she touches at Shift.

Her love of language runs in the family. McAley has an English degree from the University of Alberta, and while completing her studies, she served as Vice-President Outreach. As an elected member of the Organization for Arts Students and Interdisciplinary Studies (OASIS), she would often oversee policy changes and interdisciplinary communication. This volunteer position demanded long days and late nights, which she willingly undertook on behalf of her fellow students.
